Hughes Dubois has taken a prodigious 50,000 photographs of 38,000 art objects, published for the most part in some 157 books. His photographs has included private collections all over the world and public collections as Royal Museum for Central Africa - Quai Branly Museum - Art Institute of Chicago – King Baudouin Foundation – Dapper Foundation – Baur Foundation – Le Louvre.

Since 1982, his photographic works has been shown in 9 exhibitions in solo and in 3 group exhibitions. His exhibitions reveal the artistic sensibility of a photographer who has blossomed over his long and remarkable career.
His photographs are artworks unto themselves, and have been recognized as such through multiple international prizes. In 2014, The Bismarck Archipelago Art publication won the International Book Art Tribal Price – the ICMA Award – and the best photography MGA Book Award 2014.
